Mother & daughter combine talent and vision to create the designs for For Your Invitation! Offering a selection of fun, quirky, and completely customizable options for DIYers. With a "WE design & customize, YOU print" approach, their goal is to make your special occasions a little easier, and on a budget!
Gretchen started her designing career by self-teaching HTML coding to customize her MySpace music page. Learning how to create things from scratch, using web programs, became fun and fulfilling and led her take a web design course in high school. After putting together a few websites for the class and then creating her own website for her music, she began teaching her mom how to use the same programs.
Tracie began learning to navigate the design programs and was a quick study. She started planning ideas for website banners and customizations for her social media pages and blogs. Together with Gretchen, they started designing a few small banners and customizing social media pages and blogs, which grew to creating websites. They quickly learned that they both shared a unique gift for creating interesting and fun designs, that were also current.
After looking for wedding stationary, they quickly realized that this was a creative avenue they had not explored, and decided to put their creativity to the test. Next, after thorough research, they decided that the DIY bride would be their focus. They began coming up with their own designs, and For Your Invitation was brought to life!
"When we first started designing things together, we took what we knew and ran! We had no idea that it would turn into a business, and we couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to share our creativity with you! We really hope to help as many people as possible make their special occasions a little more custom, fun, and easy!"
Currently, FYI is offering designs for wedding stationary (available individually or in suites). Custom orders are welcomed for any special occasion or event, and they are looking forward to expanding into other design opportunities.
This mother-daughter duo is currently looking into attending more classes to further their craft and loving every moment of sharing creativity and designing together.
